A Crazy Beautiful Alabama Barn Wedding

Cristen and Hunter’s first meeting? Their *first* walk down the aisle.

“Cristen and I met at the wedding of two of our best friends,” says Hunter. “She was a bridesmaid and I was a groomsman, and we walked each other down the aisle. A month or two passed and we went on our first date. Instantly, I could tell she was the one. We connected on many levels, and I knew then that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this woman.”

When it came time to plan their own big day, the couple selected their dream venue: White Acres Farm in Camp Hill, Alabama. (Luckily, they were able to secure the only fall Saturday without Auburn University or University of Alabama football games—an important consideration for these big football fans!). Behind the camera capturing every last detail was Anna Filly of Anna Filly Photography.

The venue, located on 100 acres, provided the perfect setting for an event in which every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the signature drinks named after the couple’s dogs (the Avery-Rita and the Millie-Mosa) to the delicious spread awaiting their guests at the reception (a taco bar and a biscuit bar? Yum!)

The couple’s love of family and friends also was clearly on display throughout the day. Cristen became the newest bride to wear a family heirloom cape, first worn by her cousin in 2001, while her garter and handkerchief were handmade by a close family friend.

Especially meaningful to Cristen was the picture charm on her bouquet, which originally belonged to her grandmother, affectionately known as Monnie.

“One of my favorite details was my grandmother’s picture charm on my bouquet,” says Cristen. “It also had her gold cross, which she wore all the time. It was part of my something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue gift that my mom gave me.”

Cristen and Hunter, we’re in love with every last inch of your wedding. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
