A Romantic Burgundy and Blush Wedding in New Jersey

This is for sure: Lindsay and Sean are one lovely couple who had one lovely wedding.

The couple, who met while working as accountants at the same Fortune 500 insurance company, held their September wedding at the Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta Township, New Jersey. Photographed by Jaye Kogut of Jaye Kogut Photography (who has known the bride since high school), the event featured a romantic vibe with modern details. The burgundy and blush color scheme set the atmosphere, while modern touches were found in gold and geometric accents such as the table numbers, signs, and place cards (which the bride DIYed!).

And speaking of details, here’s one we’re so in love with: the couple’s signature cocktail, named the “Moose-cow Mule” after their dog, Moose.

“We really wanted Moose to be part of the day, but he is a 130-pound Bernese Mountain Dog, and the logistics of having him there were insane,” says Lindsay. “So instead, I bought cocktail stirrers with his face on them. They were a hit!”

Another meaningful personal touch came when Lindsay and Sean surprised the bride’s aunt and uncle, who were celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary that day, with an anniversary cake with the same flavors they had on their own wedding day (this is so, so lovely!).

“The entire day was so amazing, it’s hard to pick out favorite moments, but I would have to say our ceremony stands out the most,” says Lindsay. “Reading our vows was the most emotional moment—to stand there in front of all of our loved ones, professing our love and making lifelong promises―nothing can compare to that feeling. There was also a moment when we paused and looked around at all of the family and friends who had gathered to be part of our day. It was so powerful and we could really feel all the love in that moment.”
