A Merry and Magical Christmas Barn Wedding in Kentucky

Christmas weddings are magical—and Michael and Lauren’s rustic and refined holiday celebration is no exception.

Held at The Barn at Southern Grace in Brandenburg, Kentucky, and photographed by Simply Leah Photography, the wedding combined Southern charm with special touches reflecting the magic of the season. Natural elements of evergreen trees in bourbon barrels, pine swags with crimson flowers and pinecones, and flickering lantern light all helped to capture the charm of the holidays on a Southern farm.

The day began with a first look at the venue’s on-site bed and breakfast, followed by a ceremony in which the couple, who met through their church, exchanged vows in front of antique glass doors showcasing the winter sunset (understandably, one of the bride’s favorite moments of the day!).

At the reception, the 100 guests enjoyed Southern cuisine provided by the venue’s on-site catering, followed by almond cake with raspberry filling or sponge cake with strawberry rhubarb filling, topped with cream cheese icing. Favors were mini bags of coffee beans, a nod to Lauren’s past as a barista.
